5" Chrome Rain Cap For Straight Top Stack Of Harvester / Tractor / Emergency Generators
The exhaust stack flapper cap lays horizontally across the opening of the stack when no exhaust gas is being emitted and opens when there is pressure inside the stack. This allows the system to properly breathe, while also providing protection when not in use. Keeping harmful residues out of the exhaust can help keep your truck lasting longer and may help your gas mileage stay on track.
After rolling down the road, dust, debris and precipitation can settle into exposed stack pipes, which can keep them from working probably. Rain caps are one of the simplest ways to stay protected. They are a two-piece mechanical device that includes a collar and flapper connected at a hinge point. The adjustable collar attaches to the outside of the stack.

Whether you want a chrome rain cap to match your chrome stack or need to find an aluminized zinc rain cap for a straight stack, we have an array of stock to meet your needs and fit your rig. These caps are designed to be rust resistant, further adding to the benefits they provide.
Silenced rain cap is made from Stainless Steel and assembled with bushes made of polyamides and fibre glass. It can also be supplied in Mild Steel. This choice of materials, assures the highest mechanical resistance to stress due to irregular and discontinuous exhausted gas flow. The manufacturing process of cataphoresis creates high resistance to atmospheric agents, therefore preventing oxidisation from effecting its efficiency. Each rain cap is supplied together with M10 fixing bolts.
Sizes range from 38mm diameter to a 457mm diameter, our silenced rain caps are manufactured with a double equaliser.
The choice of rain cap should be made according to the exhaust pipe diameter, which in the table corresponds to the clamp`s internal diameter,

How do you select the material or finish of the rain cap?

There are several deciding factors on the type of rain cap finish you should select.

| Price |
If you're looking for the most economical type of rain flapper, choose the painted rain caps. The base material is carbon steel and paint is relatively inexpensive.

| Durability |
Will the rain cap be exposed to a corrosive environment such as a chemical plant? Or be see operation on a continuous basis such as a primary gen set?Consider a stainless steel rain cap as its base construction of 304 or 316 stainless steel can withstand a large degree of chemicals and operating conditions.

| Exhaust temperature |
Natural gas engines can have exhaust temperatures exceeding 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. In these applications, consider using a stainless steel rain cap made of 304 or 316. Aluminum rain caps can also be used on higher temperature exhaust systems of 1000 degrees Fahrenheit intermittent. Carbon steel, painted rain caps can operate at exhaust temperature up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit intermittently. The paint on these exhaust flappers are designed for higher operating temperatures. The chrome plating on the chrome rain caps can burn off at higher exhaust temperatures (i.e. above 500 degree Fahrenheit).

| Aesthetics: |
Rain cap going onto a show tractor? Go with a high luster finish such as chrome. A stainless steel rain cap can also be eye pleasing, but doesn't have the high luster finish of a chrome rain cap.

| Physical properties: |
Have an application that requires light weight material? Or need a rain cap that has a short counter weight dimension? Aluminum rain caps are lighter weight than their steel counterparts. And because of the lighter weight, the amount of material required for counter balance the lid is also smaller, leading to a shorter overall foot print.
