Catalytic converter is a device used to reduce the toxicity of emissions from an internal combustion engine.Catalytic converters are usually used with internal combustion engines fueled by either gasoline or diesel—including lean-burn engines as well as kerosene heaters and stoves. Its function is to reduce harmful emission (CO,HC,NO) from motor vehicle over 95%. By cleaning up the pollutants left over from combustion through chemical Oxidation and Reduction reactions, the catalytic converters convert the tailpipe emissions of hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) into nitrogen (N2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O), and elevate the harmful emissions to extremely low levels.
